Last saturday night was date night for my husband and I, we sent our 3 year old over to my mums and headed into town for dinner and a show. Where do you go on a date night in Melbourne, well you are very much spoilt for choice but we stuck to one of our favourites Movida.
It didn’t disappoint!!!!
The ambiance is always inviting, the service is second to none and the wait staff really know their stuff, they are warm and inviting and always make you feel welcome.
Lets get to the menu – it is spilt into two sections TAPA and RACIONES
We always have a selection from both as the TAPA are quite small and their is always room for a little extra. Their wine list is also exceptional.
Here are a few pictures of the TAPA we had
Marinated Sardine Fillet with Parsley, Onion and Brik Pastry Crisp
House Cold Smoked Spanish Mackerel with Pine Nut Gazpacho Sorbet
Tasmanian Surf Clam with Parsley, Garlic and Lemon Crumb
RACIONES
Slow Braised Beef Cheek in Pedro Ximenez on Cauliflower Puree
By this stage, we were both very content, but my husband has a very sweet tooth and everywhere we eat, he is always hopeful that there is a creme brûlée on the menu. Unfortunately the creme caramel had to do. I ordered the fried brioche with quince, both were absolutely amazing.
If you get a chance or you are in Melbourne and looking for somewhere casual and elegant to eat a great meal that will linger in your mind and on your palette for a long while, give movida a try. You won’t be disappointed.
